Nucleus Software up 17% on higher revenues

MUMBAI: Nucleus Software & Exports gained more than 17% on BSE after reporting a 14% rise in the third quarter revenue. Net profit, however, declined a little over 32%.

At 11.45 am, the stock was trading at Rs 61.25, up 17.79%. Nearly three lakh shares changed hands on BSE and the stock was among the top gainers of the B group shares. The stock has gained more than 25% in the last one month.

According to a company release, the company's consolidated revenue for the third quarter ending December 31, 2008 increased by 14% to Rs 84.24 crore, compared to Rs 73.64 crore for the corresponding quarter of the previous year.

Net profit, meanwhile, decreased to Rs 10.55 crore in comparison to Rs 15.53 crore for the corresponding quarter in the previous year. With total expenses increasing by 25%, the consolidated EBITDA declined to Rs 15.21 crore, compared to Rs 18.51 crore for the corresponding quarter of the previous year.

In the quarter ended Dec 31, 2008, the company bagged eight new orders and six new customers. It also implemented 16 product modules across the globe.
