Starting as a B.Tech computer science graduate, she embarked on her career as a software engineer trainee, a journey that would see her evolve from software development projects in Delhi to influential roles in Tokyo.
Reflecting on her early days, Amandeep reminisces, “When I joined Nucleus, I started as a software engineer trainee, working on implementation and support projects. My time in Tokyo, particularly, was transformative. It wasn’t just about work; it was about imbibing a culture of discipline and quality that resonated deeply with me.”
Her tenure in Tokyo, spanning multiple assignments between 2002 and 2008, provided her with invaluable insights into meticulous processes and cross-cultural collaboration. “Interacting with Japanese colleagues taught me the importance of precision and punctuality,” she recalls. “Their dedication to ‘Go Fumai’—being five minutes early—left a lasting impression on me.”
Amandeep’s journey at Nucleus wasn’t without personal milestones. “When my first son was born in Tokyo, it was a challenging yet rewarding time. I took a break to balance work and family, which Nucleus supported wholeheartedly,” she explains, highlighting the organization’s commitment to its employees’ well-being.
Returning from maternity leave, Amandeep diversified her role, moving into quality assurance and eventually taking on responsibilities in NSBT. “I’ve been fortunate to grow with Nucleus, from technical roles to now overseeing the training and development of our future talent,” she states proudly.
As she reflects on her role today, Amandeep emphasizes the importance of values and mentorship. “Nucleus’s core values have been my guiding light throughout. They’ve shaped my approach to work and leadership,” she says. Her dedication to mentoring the next generation is evident in her involvement with fresher hiring and induction programs.
“I believe in instilling a strong sense of integrity and quality consciousness in every team member,” she notes. “These attributes are crucial regardless of one’s role within Nucleus.” Her vision for NSBT is clear: “I aim to elevate NSBT into a highly respected unit known for its value addition to the organization.”
