Some journeys don’t feel big when you’re living them. They just move forward quietly – one role, one project, one conversation at a time. And then one day, you pause… and realise how much has changed.
For me, completing 20 years at Nucleus is one of those moments. When I look back, I don’t just see a career or a series of roles. I see a life that took shape here – step by step, through opportunities, trust, and the people I met along the way. There’s also a small detail I always smile about. Both Nucleus and I were born in 1986. And in a way, we’ve grown up together.
Where It All Started
I joined Nucleus in 2006 as a project intern. At that time, the plan was simple – learn for six months and then move on. But those six months stayed. I started as a developer on the Nozomi project, then moved into software testing. From there, I got the opportunity to step into business analysis, which took me to Singapore and brought me closer to customers and real-world problem solving.
Opportunities kept coming – some expected, some not. I moved to Abu Dhabi as a Principal Business Analyst. Then back to Singapore as a Solution Consultant for the UOB account. Over time, I transitioned into project management, and eventually into program management – taking on larger responsibilities, teams, and delivery. I didn’t have everything figured out at the start. But I was given the chance to try, learn, and grow – and that made all the difference. Looking back, it wasn’t just about moving roles. It was about being trusted to grow into them.
When Work Becomes Personal
Somewhere along the way, Nucleus became more than just work. In 2010, I met Nishtha – she was my colleague at the time. Over the years, that connection grew into something much deeper. We got married in 2015, and today we are proud parents to two sons. Both of us have spent so many years with Nucleus, and when our kids talk about it with pride, it feels special in a way that’s hard to describe. It reminds me that sometimes, the place where you build your career also becomes the place where life unfolds.
The Little Moments That Stay
When I think about my journey, it’s not the titles or promotions that come to mind first. It’s the small things. Running into familiar faces across offices. Quick conversations in corridors. Celebrations that didn’t need much planning. And one moment I still remember very clearly – I was randomly selected to join leadership for lunch. I still remember how happy I felt that day. It was a small moment, but it stayed with me. Over the years, whether I was in India or Singapore, there was always a sense of familiarity. A feeling that I belong here.
Still Looking Ahead
For me, these 20 years are not just about how long I’ve stayed. They’re about what this journey has given me. Growth. Confidence. Relationships. A sense of identity. Even today, I feel proud to say I’m from Nucleus. A proud Nucleite. And that pride comes with a simple commitment- to keep contributing, to keep growing, and to give back to the place that has shaped so much of who I am.
